Ryan and the team at Skybreaker are phenomenal.
I had always wanted to explore more of Canada, and their vehicles are THE way to do. I have traveled extensively, but these expedition trucks are something else… they take a road trip from 0 to 1000 and it’s worth the world— a truly once in a lifetime experience everyone who can should try.

From the get go, Ryan was extremely serviceable and always available to teach and support. He took the time to personally show me all about driving and caring for Roxanne (the rig) so that I could do things myself. He was extremely patient with me, a total beginner when it comes to van life, let alone driving such a mammoth on all sorts of terrains and roads.

He also gave me great insight and advice as to what to do with my time in BC and Alberta- including stellar spots to camp out at that really, no other wheels could get to. Additionally, he gave me great personal safety and wellness tips that proved vital in the wilderness as a young non Canadian woman.

I thought the best part of my trip was going to be the sights but honestly driving this massive beast was so exhilarating and empowering that it was my ultimate highlight.
It’s also super cozy inside, has everything you need to cook and clean and enjoy a rest from all the adventure. It even has hot water for a shower!!

Ryan is a total professional that tells it how it is- which is necessary for this kind of exploring and travel, and I would trust him completely with any future plans in Canada … or beyond!! Keep an eye out for this company, they’re going places (literally) that no others have gone before 🙂

Been dreaming allot of renting an expedition vehicle and I was able to make it happen through Skybreaker Overland! It was everything I wanted and more ! Driving on flooded roads, paddle boards, cooking in comfort to morning coffee while watching footy ⚽️ using Starlink ! The rig was easy to drive with its cab forward design and comfortable ! Ryan did a 2 + hour walk through of all the systems in the rig / habitat. I look forward to renting another expedition rig next year through Skybreaker Overland !

I recently purchased a van and knew I wanted to outfit it with more off grid and year round capabilities… but I was in way over my head tackling this project alone. On-boarding Ryan from Skybreaker was the best decision I could have made! He helped me dream up a super safe and powerful system that met my travel goals and was there for in person and video chats to help me execute the design. He is one of the most patient, thorough and empowering teachers I’ve ever had. I am so thankful that his package included troubleshooting on the road for some of the questions that came up once I took her on her maiden voyage.

Ryan is a wealth of knowledge from his YEARS of tiny living and travel, and dealing with machines.

I had a great experience with Ryan at Skybreaker Overland. He helped me a lot with diesel heater problems during the winter, gave me useful travel advice, and even consulted me about solar installation. I was traveling across Canada with my VW T4 and spent the whole winter in Calgary – Ryan supported me with everything I needed along the way. Really professional and friendly service, highly recommended!

I have experienced Skybreaker Overland in many different ways. I joined a winter hot springs expedition, took the driver training course in the Kootenays, explored the remote beaches of northern Vancouver Island, and most recently spent time on the dirt roads of Highway 40 and the south Kootenays. Each trip was its own adventure and showed me what these expedition trucks can do.

Outside of the trips, Ryan has also coached me through the technical side. I have learned about solar, electrical, plumbing, and engine systems. This has been a huge help as I prepare for full time sailboat life. Skybreaker Overland is more than a rental company. It has shaped how I want to live and the kind of adventures I want to keep chasing.

My wife Laura joined one of Skybreaker Overland’s winter expeditions and came back raving about it. She spent the day skiing and then was able to warm up in the truck with real heat, a hot cup of tea, and a European-style charcuterie spread. It had all the comforts of home, sitting right in the middle of the mountains.

I have not yet done my driver training or hunting trip with them, but I have already been impressed with what these trucks can do. They combine rugged ability with true comfort. You get the function of a rental car, the comfort of an Airbnb, and the freedom to go wherever you want without needing to return to a base every night. The fact that they come fully loaded with everything you need makes it even easier. You just bring your suitcase, grab groceries, and you are ready for an adventure. The value is exceptional and I cannot wait for my turn behind the wheel.
