Day by day

THE FULL LINE · 7 DAYS

Every day is a card: where you wake up, what the road does, where you sleep.

DAY 01Fernie, then up

Out of Fernie and north up the valley while the peaks close in. The line only gets bigger from here.

DAY 02Coal country

Through Sparwood past the big trucks, then off the pavement where the Elk runs clear. Camp on the river with cutthroat rising at dusk.

DAY 03Elkford and beyond

Past the end of the towns and into the headwaters. The wild half of the valley starts here.

DAY 04The pass

Up over the high divide, walked first where it is rough. The Committed day, and the view that pays for it.

DAY 05The white country

High limestone, larches, and basins that see more goats than people. Camp at treeline if the weather allows, and it usually does.

DAY 06The long way round

Down a drainage the map barely admits to, one crossing, one grin, and a camp you will not find named anywhere.

DAY 07The slow goodbye

Back down the valley with the dust of a real one on the truck. Walkthrough in Fernie, and the patio earned.
