Day by day

THE FULL LINE · 7 DAYS

Every day is a card: where you wake up, what the road does, where you sleep.

DAY 01Savona, then silence

Off the highway at Savona and up into grassland benches and lodgepole country. First camp is a lake at elevation with loons for neighbours.

DAY 02The plateau

A day of high, open country: ranch gates, sagebrush, and gravel that runs straight at the horizon. Camp where the aspens start.

DAY 03Lakes on lakes

The interior lake country at its best. Fish one, swim another, camp a third. The rods and boards are already on the truck.

DAY 04Into the timber

Climbing east through working forest toward the real mountains. The air changes and the fires burn a little longer at night.

DAY 05The high line

The route tops out in subalpine meadows that go gold in September. This is the postcard day. Camp with a view you will defend in arguments.

DAY 06Wells Gray edges

Waterfall country: short walks to big drops, and a camp within earshot of moving water.

DAY 07The slow goodbye

Down through the North Thompson to McBride with the Rockies filling the windshield. We meet you, walk the truck, and you fly home taller.
